Thermocouples
We placed thermocouples in the edge of the basement slab, 1m and 3m below the edge, 1m below the centre, and 1m outside the bottom of the basement walls and 0.5m down, 1m below g/l and 2m out and 2m below g/l and 2m out. More will be placed as we go, suggestions welcome.

The day I got the first results from the burried thermocouples was quite nice, having no one in the house all summer using hot water all the solar heat was pumped down under the house (apart from when the system boiled). The temperature of the ground had risen to 16 C one meter down under the centre of the slab, the edge of the slab was at 15.3 C and 1m out from the front wall and 2m down was at 16.3 C At the end of October the temp 1m down under the middle was 16C and at the end of Nov 15.5. End Dec 15C and end Jan 14.5C. By the end of July temperature 1m down under the middle of the slab had been pumped up to 17.5C a disapointing start to August saw it decrease to 17.3C by the middle of the month.

I hope to be able to show graphs of all this soon.
